On April 28th, a delegation led by Hungarian Consul General in Guangzhou, Mr. Peter Varfi, and Commercial Consul, Mr. Venato Horvath, visited Fujian Normal University (FNU). President Wang Changping welcomed the guests, accompanied by representatives from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and the School of Communication.

During the meeting, President Wang Changping provided an insight into FNU’s collaborations with foreign institutions, tracing the university’s history of cooperation with Hungarian universities. He emphasized the strong foundation and bright future of the partnerships FNU has forged with several Hungarian institutions, expressing hope for expanded exchanges and cooperation across multiple levels and fields.

Mr. Peter Varfi echoed these sentiments, noting that this year marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Hungary and China. He viewed this as a pivotal moment in bilateral relations, expressing a desire to further deepen cooperation with FNU in education, culture, and other domains within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. This, he believed, would help propel the friendly relations between the two countries forward.

The meeting concluded with an in-depth exploration of potential collaborations in the field of communication studies and adjacent areas. Both parties agreed to continue discussions and seek opportunities for mutual learning and growth.
