Recently, members of the “Training Program for Intermediate and Senior Diplomats from Francophone African Countries,” hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by the Fujian Provincial Center for Foreign Economic Cooperation, visited our university for a “Face-to-Face Diplomatic Exchange with Diplomats from Francophone African Countries.” The delegation included representatives from eight countries: Burkina Faso, Burundi, Gabon, Djibouti, Mali, Chad, Côte d'Ivoire, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Ge Guilu, the Dean of the College of Foreign Languages, You Zeshun, the Vice Dean, and over ten faculty and student representatives participated in the event. During the exchange, You Zeshun warmly welcomed the African guests who had traveled from afar in French and introduced the attending guests. Ge Guilu provided an overview of the history and development of our university, highlighting our unique strengths in foreign language teaching, scientific research, and international exchanges.

Members of the African delegation introduced the geographic locations, cultural characteristics, and Sino-African cooperation situations of their respective countries. During the interactive session, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics including Sino-African educational cooperation and the application of new technologies in the field of education.
